Finishing Systems

This is a continuous strip washer designed and manufactured for the Federal Mogul Corporation. Federal Mogul manufactures many types of bearings for the automotive industry. This machine is capable of running a 10 gauge (.130"thick) 10 inches wide. At speeds up to 150 feet per minute. There are two cleaning stages, one rinse stage, and a drying stage. The strip, once through the machine was required to pass not only a "water break" test, but a "white glove" test as well. After exiting our washer, the strip has a heavy copper surface applied, then is sheared and rolled to become sleeve bearings used in automobile engines. Federal Mogul purchased five of these machines. Four of which were shipped to manufacturing plants overseas.
